For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.

Come, let us shout joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation!

See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.”

There will be joy and delight for you, and many will rejoice at his birth.

Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace[a] with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God exalted this man to his right hand as ruler and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: See, the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”
