Spiritual Warfare: Pastor Ventura  6 PM to 7:25 PM

Too often, Christians today either sensationalize the subject of spiritual warfare by obsessing over demon possession, exorcisms, binding the devil, and rebuking demons, or they minimize the idea and are unprepared for the real struggle they face against principalities and powers. In this course, Pastor Ventura will provide a balanced approach that exposes the fictions and superstitions surrounding this vital doctrine and at the same time reveal the unseen realities of this struggle. Basing his battle plan on Ephesians 6:10–20, and his book on this topic, Pastor Ventura will give an overview of the battle, a guide to the armor God gives us, and instruction regarding the vital wartime disciplines of prayer and proclamation of the Word. By learning to think biblically about this subject, Christians will be enabled to deflect the blows of their adversary, fight sin, and live God-glorifying lives as followers of Jesus.

Hermeneutics: Dr. Bob Burrelli   6 PM to 7:25 PM

In a post-Modern, post-Christian culture, where many are reinterpreting and redefining morality, spirituality, marriage, and even gender, we are not surprised to find many dangerous methods of how to interpret Scripture flooding the church. After all, this is how Satan works—he attacks both our Bible and our sure means of interpreting it! Hermeneutics is the art and science of interpretation. In this course, we will survey some ancient and modern methods of interpretation, why they fall short, and teach you the grammatical, historical, literal method of interpretation, with the goal of providing you with some vital skills for accurate interpretation and application of the Bible.

Doctrine of the Holy Spirit: Dr. Bob Burrelli  7:30 PM to 9 PM

The Holy Spirit is perhaps the most misunderstood and least spoken of member of the Holy Trinity. In this course, we will study some of the more harmful notions of the Holy Spirit that have been perpetuated down through church history. We will also speak about what the Bible says concerning the person and work of the Holy Spirit and His various ministries, coupled with His activities in the world and in the church, and especially the believer’s relationship to Him.
